CHILDMINDING

Childminding is available for children 6 weeks to 8 years of age.  We offer arts and crafts, manipulative toys, story time, and outdoor play, enabling children to learn through play and exploration. Our qualified staff use positive guidance and encourage the development of social skills and friendships among peers.

CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

We have licensed programs through Vancouver Coastal Health, as well as unlicensed programs. We put a lot of creativity, energy, and excitement into each recreational children's program and as well as the camps we offer at The Arbutus Club. We strive to incorporate a diverse range of learning opportunities through explorative play, crafting, group activities, and storytelling.

DANCE

The Arbutus Club Academy of Dance cultivates young dancers, from their first step in a dance studio through their pre-professional training. Students discover their individual artistic choices in a creative environment with the guidance of an internationally recognized faculty. Personalized attention encourages students to mature as dancers, grow as individuals and enrich their passion for the art form.

FITNESS

Regardless of your fitness level or goal, our renovated Fitness Centre is equipped with a wide range of high-quality equipment and machines to meet every need.  We have a team of highly educated and experienced personal trainers, group fitness and pilates instructors who will motivate and challenge you through a wide array of training sessions, group classes or private lessons.

GYMNASTICS

The primary goal of our program is for each child to enhance their physical literacy through age appropriate gymnastic activities and to build self-esteem in a safe and fun environment. Each child is supported and instructed at their own pace by our nationally certified coaches, learning body awareness and safety skills in preschool, recreational and competitive gymnastics streams.

HOCKEY

The Arbutus Club Hockey program is designed to give each player the best opportunity to develop his or her skills in the sport, at any age.  From our Minor Hockey Association, hockey development programs to our adult hockey leagues, all players are welcome regardless of skill level from beginners just learning to play, to mid-range and experienced players.

KARATE

Improve coordination, increase flexibility, develop more strength, and learn self-defense with Shito Ryu karate. Our instructors aim to develop physical, mental and spiritual well-being through training which involves basics (kihon waza), forms (kata), and fighting (kumite), to prepare for belt gradings and a year end display.

MUSIC & ARTS

The Music & Dramatic Arts program delivers a range of services including private piano, guitar, saxophone, clarinet and voice lessons, and group and private visual arts classes. From mastering a musical instrument to unleashing their inner Picasso, our students excel in the creative arts.

SKATING

The idea for the Arbutus Club was born out of the need for more ice time in Vancouver. Our skating department is still incredibly important to club life and offers a wide range of programs for beginners learning to skate for the first time, to more technical and advanced classes in power skating and figure skating.

SQUASH

With five singles squash courts, the squash program has something for players of all ages and skill levels. Choose from a variety of junior programs from recreational to competitive. A full complement of in-house and city leagues for men and women will provide you with a fun, social and competitive environment to take your skills to the next level.

VOLLEYBALL
